Sicily. We arrived early at the port of Messina and were bussed up the side of Mt Etna to Gambino's Winery for tasting and lunch. The view was great, and the two whites were wonderful (being such wine experts). They also had some good cheeses and sausage. And the bread. Can you tell this is going to be about food? Hazelnut cookies for dessert. Mary got some of the extras on the bus afterwards. (It was difficult, but I did share them.)
We were on the Messina piazza be the port when the clock struck 6. It's a fancy clock tower and it was only 6:15 at the time. Gelatto report:
On board vanilla--only a 2 even with hot fudge sauce and almonds.
