Food glorious food

Tuesday, July 12  Hot, hot, hot! Rome and the train station are not airconditioned.

We have arrived in Florence hot and tired.  The hotel is cool and wired so I am going to try uploading to the internet.  I am eating the chocolate that was on my pillow.  I got both of the treats last night because it was a chocolate covered coffee bean.  DJA hasn't tasted hers yet.  I could suggest a hint of coffee...

We were on a fast train - we weren't even sure we were really in Firenzi.  We noticed that the taxi driver did not buckle up until we were behind a police car. ;oD

Quoted from the hotel directions:
"The Management is not Responsible of any Damage they may have your dresses or Oggetts forgeted in the room you will find the prices list and the plastic bug in the Wardrobe e give it to the Cleaning Lady before 9:30 AM
The Service will be on every working day,Except banks holidays.
Grazie.
Thank you."

farm on Crete: appetizers including stuffed grape leaves
I started this on our last full day at sea (July 9), but got a little sidetracked. We had absolutely gorgeous weather for the whole trip. Even the days when the temperature was in the upper 80's it's been pleasant in the shade, with a nice breeze. The seas have been calm enough that we have barely felt like we were moving. The train ride from Venice was rockier, and we thought that was smooth.

Crete:  Lamb and rice
Now for the the report you've been waiting for--Cruise Food. The other night I dreamed I stepped on the ship spa's scale and it said I weighed 210 pounds. It woke me up. That may be true after all the eating I've been doing--bread (yummy, yummy breads) every meal. Desserts at every meal ( how can you pass up not just one chocolate dessert, but two or three). And any number of pasta and potato dishes. It's hard to pick a favorite meal so I'm not going to try. I'll just have you look at the photos and drool.
